Review: In Himari Momochi’s case, she inherits a mysterious house with its own beautiful demon guardian. The orphan Himari Momochi inherits her ancestral estate on her sixteenth birthday, a property she has never seen. As guardian between the human and spiritual realms, Himari serves as the Momochi House’s guardian. Upon moving into the house, she finds three handsome squatters already living there, and one seems to have already taken over her duties!
To be honest, I didn’t find it impressive.I found a lot of things in this first volume to be underwhelming. It all happened so fast, with so little development. Orphaned 16-year-old inherits house. When she arrives at the house, she finds three squatters living there. Upon meeting one boy, our heroine becomes infatuated with.
I don’t like my main characters in anime and manga to be too innocent or extreme pushovers, but Aoi definitely fit both categories. His behavior is so childish and acts too young for his age that I can’t stand him. The three guys and her in this house have little character development and are introduced abruptly. Do the other two boy characters serve no purpose? For the romance, it felt like they met immediately and fell in love.
The story and characters didn’t grab me until the last three pages. The second volume may interest me, but at this point I am unsure whether I will read it. To be honest, I’d recommend something like Kamisama Kiss instead. Even Kamisama Kiss isn’t my cup of tea.
Possibly I’ll continue, but for now I’m not impressed. My interest is in knowing why Aoi cannot leave, but sincerely, I wasn’t keen on this. The art is pretty at least.
